It’s Volunteers’ Week, and today we’re celebrating the wonderful volunteers who support FAN behind the scenes — often in ways that aren’t immediately visible but make an enormous difference.

In addition to facilitating two FAN groups, Ruth plays a key role as our Social Media volunteer, helping to promote FAN. She also shares her time and experience at events, helping us reach more organisations and more people in the community.

Zahra has been part of FAN for many years and continues to be an essential presence. She regularly promotes FAN at events, provides fantastic buffets for gatherings, supports new groups as they get started, and is always a warm, welcoming presence!

And of course, these examples are only a small part of everything Ruth and Zahra contribute.

This year, thanks to funding from National Lottery Awards for All, we’re able to continue supporting volunteers in a wide variety of activities, including the kind of behind the scenes work that keeps FAN thriving.

These are just two of the many dedicated volunteers who help make FAN what it is. We’re hugely grateful for everything they contribute, we couldn’t’ manage without them!
